Restorative Health Services Celebrates 20 Years With Local Community Service Partnerships

RHS 20 years in business

To celebrate 20 years of service to Middle Tennesseans, Restorative Health Services (RHS) is initiating a year-long partnership with Working Dogs for Veterans (WDFV) to raise funds to help support their mission of providing service dogs for veterans. WDFV’s vision is “Saving Lives at Both Ends of the Leash,” as many of the dogs they train for veterans are adopted from shelters.

Working Dogs for Veterans

  • Veterans commit suicide at a rate of 1 every 59 minutes.
  • Over 1.9 million veterans need service dogs.
  • About 2.7 million dogs are put down in U.S. shelters each year. That 's about 1 every 11 seconds.

Working Dogs For Vets offers "In House" service dog training programs. These programs are for disabled heroes whose disability prevents them from training their own service dog through the No Veteran Left Behind Program. On average, service dog training for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (P.T.S.D.) takes 6 months to a year. Many of the in house service dogs have been trained tasks to help P.T.S.D. coupled with another disability such as mobility support

The company has also chosen to support Feed America First (FAF) this year whose vision is: “Hunger will cease to be a problem in America when we refuse to allow our neighbors go hungry."

Feed America First

  • FAF supplies food to more than 200 partner agencies across the Middle Tennessee region every month.
  • Along with their partner agencies, they serve 35,000 families a month.
  • They distribute over 1,000,000 pounds of food every month.
  • FAF disbributed over 16, 000,000 pounds of food in 2019.
  • Since it’s founding in 2000 they have distributed over ONE HUNDRED MILLION POUNDS of food.

Each of our 9 locations have donation boxes for monetary donations to WDFV and collection boxes for donations of non-perishable food items for FAF. We encourage you to help us support these very worthy organizations with your donations.

Welcome to Restorative Health Services: Where Science Meets Art

RHS was founded by Aaron Sorensen, MBA, CPO in 2001. Aaron has created a culture among our professional and administrative staff that combines empathy and concern for our patients with in-depth experience and expertise in creating solutions for their prosthetic, orthotic and pedorthic needs.

With every patient, every day, we are dedicated to maintaining our reputation as Middle Tennessee's preferred provider of the full spectrum orthotics, prosthetics and pedorthics, through:

  • Maintaining an open line of communication with your doctor and/or therapist
  • Engaging with our patients and their families to determine and meet not only their needs and goals, but their “wants” (such as an art design on your socket or plastic brace)
  • Regular, ongoing CEU practitioner education
  • Maintaining thorough knowledge and expertise in both basic and advanced technologies
  • On-site fabrication that ensures that the practitioner you see at your appointments with us will oversee the entire process of crafting your prosthesis or custom orthosis
  • Providing education to our fellow health care professionals, such as physical therapists, case managers, nurses and others
  • Complimentary consultation and evaluation appointments for new patients
  • Being in-network with the majority of insurance plans in the area
  • Going to bat” for our patients with health plans when necessary

Where Compassion Meets Care

Our staff understands that your prosthesis or orthosis is a part of your every day life. We don’t take this lightly, nor do we take your satisfaction for granted. Please communicate openly with your practitioner so we can ensure the best treatment options for you, specifically.
